Positive Outlook for 2008

Interest rates are down this week so if you are able to buy real estate, this is a great time to do so.  If you are looking for a beautiful place in Southern Arizona to live, there are some absolutely amazing properties for sale right now in all price ranges.  Give me a call or send me an email and let's get to work selling your property or finding that special place to purchase.  Let me show you what Southern Arizona has to offer -- especially over here in Pinal County.  You have to see it to believe it (as corny as that sounds!).

Speculation continues about whether or not this is a good time to buy or sell real estate.  The media seems to delight in causing panic around this topic.  Here is my take on the situation:

1.  Real estate is still one of the best long term investments you can make.

2.  Taxes favor homeowners. Mortgage interest can be fully tax-deductible as well as some property taxes.

3.  If you are paying rent, you are not building equity.  Rental rates are high these days.  For example:  If you are paying $1000 a month in rent, you could be making a payment on a home each month instead of making someone else's payment!

4.  Inventory and prices for buyers is amazing.  And with that inventory comes more opportunities for sellers to show their homes.  Both sides are at an advantage now.

5.  Financing IS available and interest rates are still low.  And if conventional financing is not right for you, you may be able to take advantage of some of our home purchasing plan through the USDA Rural Housing program and the State of Arizona's "Homes for Arizonans" programs.  You might also consider a lease-purchase or owner carryback situation as well.  If you really want to buy a home, we will find something to fit your financial situation.

6.  Arizona is a great place to invest.  Even as the market fluctuates, you can still buy a lot of home or land for a reasonable price.

Arizona is an amazing place to live during the winter months.  We get a little taste of snow as well as plenty of sunshine and warmth.  Eastern Pinal County is growing and holds lots of opportunities for affordable living for raising a family, finding some open space, or for retirement.  We have a great inventory of land and homes right now at excellent prices -- give me a call!

And remember, if you were in Arizona right now, you could be golfing, biking, hiking, or having a picnic.  No shoveling snow -- no icy streets -- no gray skies.  Can you imagine it?

As we start this new year,  it is a great time to focus on all of the blessings in our lives.   I am so thankful for all of the people I have met over the past year through the process of buying and selling property.  People are the reason that we REALTORS® are in this business, not the structures or the land.

Wishing you happiness, success, love, and peace in 2008!

Amy
